MoKont ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Trivora Ltd, Company Registration No. C26231133, registered at 220, Orange Blossom, Splendid View, Albion, Mauritius.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the MoKont invoicing application available at app.mokont.com and on Android via Google Play.
By using MoKont, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We may amend this policy at any time by posting a revised version on our platforms. You should read this document in its entirety. We act as the data processor for your client information, while you remain the data controller.
Definitions
The following terms are used throughout this Privacy Policy:

| DPO | The Mauritius Data Protection Office, the regulatory authority responsible for enforcing the Data Protection Act 2017. |
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the service effectively. We collect information when you register, use the Platforms, contact support, or interact with third-party integrations connected to MoKont.

How We Use Your Information
We are required to collect and use Personal Information in order to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the MoKont Services
- Generate and store your invoices securely
- Verify your identity and business details at registration
- Send transactional emails (e.g. password resets, invoice confirmations)
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Troubleshoot technical issues and prevent fraud
- Improve the app based on anonymised usage patterns
- Respond to your support requests
- Comply with legal obligations under Mauritian law, including tax record-keeping requirements
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Access to your account data requires authentication credentials.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, in accordance with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 and the Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Act 2021. These measures include encrypted storage, access controls, and regular security reviews.
Data Sharing
We will not sell or lease your information to third parties for promotional purposes. We only share your data in the following circumstances:

Legal requirements — we may disclose your information in connection with a formal legal request, court order, or where required by applicable Mauritian law:
Business transfer — in the event of a sale, acquisition, or merger of Trivora Ltd or some or all of its assets, your personal data may form part of the transferred assets. We will notify you by posting a notice on our Platforms in advance of any such transfer, and your data will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties not described above.
Overseas Data Disclosure
MoKont uses Supabase to store and process your data. Supabase infrastructure may be located outside of Mauritius. By using MoKont, you acknowledge that your Personal Information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than Mauritius.
Where we transfer your data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is afforded comparable protections to those required under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017. This includes ensuring that any overseas service providers we use are bound by appropriate data protection obligations.
We will only disclose Personal Information to overseas recipients where:
- We reasonably believe the recipient is subject to a law or binding scheme that protects personal data in a way that is at least comparable to the DPA 2017; or
- You have consented to the overseas disclosure; or
- The disclosure is required or authorised by Mauritian law.
Your Rights
Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Request deletion of your account and personal data
Export your invoice data in a portable format
Object to or restrict certain types of processing
Withdraw consent to data processing at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your request within 30 days. There are no charges for making a request, though if the volume of data is exceptionally large, reasonable administration fees may apply.
Please note: restricting certain uses of your data may result in you no longer being able to use some or all of the MoKont Services.
Data Retention
We retain your Personal Information for as long as your account remains active and as required to provide you with the Services.
While your account is active — all account, business, and invoice data is retained to operate the service. You can update or correct this information at any time through your account settings.
After account deletion — personal account data (name, email, password) will be removed within 30 days of your deletion request. However, invoice and financial records may be retained for up to 7 years from the date of the relevant transaction to comply with Mauritian tax record-keeping obligations under the Income Tax Act and Value Added Tax Act, and any applicable MRA requirements.
Anonymised data — we may retain anonymised, aggregated usage data for research and product improvement purposes indefinitely, as this data cannot be associated with any individual.
To determine appropriate retention periods, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the data, the purposes for which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, and the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure.
Cookie Policy
To improve your experience on our Platforms, we may use cookies — small data files stored on your device by your browser. These are used by us or third parties for purposes including operating and personalising the Platforms, maintaining your session, conducting internal analytics, and improving our services.
Types of cookies we may use:
- Essential cookies — required for the Platforms to function, including authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how users interact with MoKont so we can improve the product. Data collected is anonymised where possible.
- Preference cookies — remember your settings and preferences across visits.
You may refuse non-essential cookies by adjusting your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of the Platforms. Our Platforms also contain links to third-party websites; we are not responsible for the privacy or cookie practices of those sites.
Unsolicited Information
If you provide Personal Information that we have not requested, we will only retain it where it is reasonably necessary to provide you with the Services and you have consented, or where it was not practical to obtain your consent at the time.
If these conditions are not met, we will destroy or de-identify the unsolicited information as soon as practicable. If the unsolicited information constitutes Sensitive Information, we will always seek your explicit consent before retaining it.
Children's Privacy
MoKont is an invoicing tool intended exclusively for business use. It is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take steps to remove that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. The current version will always be available on our Platforms.
When we make material changes, we will notify you via email to your registered address or an in-app notification before the changes take effect. Continued use of MoKont after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Services and may request deletion of your account.

If you have a question, concern, or complaint about how MoKont handles your Personal Information, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly.
